A reward is promised to anyone who brings it to the station. An argument starts up on the line and dozens of citizens jump into the fray. Someone announces very good news. With help from folks in the diaspora, the residents of a neglected area of town have organized a rotating system for garbage collection and street-cleaning. The streets of this working-class neighborhood are the cleanest in the city. Francis gestures to Ronny, who heads off immediately in the direction he’s pointing. I just want to go have a look. On the way, something dawns on Francis. In this place, I’ve got to take it all in—to walk on embers, eyes shining, head in the clouds, such marvelous clouds. Yes, I’ve got to grab the fire and the clouds, the shadow and the light. Francis feels much more at ease with his camera and starts to take more shots.
